VR Meetings that Improve on the Real Thing

Tired of awkward interactions with your co-workers on Google hangouts? Good news: Mimesys has just released their Connect solution, which they call the “first holographic meeting platform.” To use it, both users simply hook up a Kinect 3D sensor to their computers, and put on a virtual or augmented reality headset. Connect puts both users in the same virtual space.

Mimesys says Connect is their way of re-creating the atmosphere of collaboration we get with in-person meetings, but for employees who are separated by distance. It also offers tools for co-working and collaboration.

“Did I mention that the meetings are really fun?” says CEO Rémi Rousseau. “Because they are. They are engaging in a new way that is much more playful and human.” He continues, “With Mimesys Connect we want to increase the capability of a team of people to approach a complex problem situation, to gain comprehension of this situation, and to find solutions quickly, wherever they are in the world.”

The platform is compatible with all major 3D-capture sensors and AR/VR hardware.
