David has worked in the Construction industry for the past 20 years and has facilitated the construction process on more than 300 projects on and off the job site via Building Information Modeling and Virtual Design and Construction since 2002. He plays an integral role in departmental and company training, department recruiting efforts, R&D, and the continual development and refinement of company and industry BIM standards and processes. His focus the past several years has been on the integration of BIM and related innovative technologies into the construction process. He has spent the past 8 years implementing Laser Scanning technology training teams on the use of BIM, mobile technology, laser scanning, and the benefits of Virtual Design and Construction. He wrote, submitted, and facilitated the successful acquisition of one of the first FAA Exemptions for Drone/UAV use on construction projects.
David is currently an active member of the ACTION (Atlanta, Construction Technology Innovation Open Network) group leadership. David is the former President of the Atlanta Revit Users group and the BIMForum Leadership Group, a former member of the Autodesk Global Construction Customer Council, a contributing author of the original AGC 'BIM 101' & 'Contractor's Guide To BIM' and a current contributing author of both the BIMForum BIM Execution Planning Guide and Coordination Guide. He has presented almost every year since 2007 at Autodesk University to support the continual development of industry standards, learning, and protocol regarding Building Information Modeling and Virtual Design and Construction. He has also presented on numerous occasions at the BIMForum, SPAR, Hexagon, ABC, AGC, ENR FutureTech, and other national industry conferences and online webinars on subjects ranging from BIM and VDC to Laser Scanning, Drones, Augmented / Virtual Reality, 4D Scheduling, Marketing, and Construction Simulation and Optimization.
