Ira Samm is part of Bechtel’s Innovation Group located in Houston, Texas. He is involved in the development of novel solutions to improve capital project delivery such as:
• Optimized approaches for indirect resource distribution,
• Advanced prospecting, estimating, & bidding systems,
• Multi-dimensional managerial accounting systems,
• Labor density & accessibility factor models,
• Generative planning techniques,
• EPC Value chain simulation.
In the past 16 years with Bechtel, he has worked on a variety of mega-projects in the power, government, military, mining, and energy sectors. His experience draws heavily from planning, construction engineering, subcontract management, and commissioning roles in a variety of domestic and international job sites. He also delivers business development support, community & academic engagement, workshop facilitation, public speaking, and presentation coaching for the Bechtel Innovation Group.
He is the Chairperson of the Committee for Innovation and Applied Research – Construction Management School at the University of Houston. He is a Six Sigma Yellow Belt and a Six Sigma Champion.
