Rob Barthelman is an Architect and Principal at Steinberg Hart, an award-winning, international architectural practice. Rob is also the co-founder and CEO of Dabblefox, a web-based facilities platform that guides objective facility maintenance planning based on industry data, linked to each owner’s facilities information. Space Utilization and Custodial Planning platforms are the fruit of his passions for connected and shared data systems. In recent years, Rob has also been influential in incorporating 3D, virtual reality (VR) into the design processes at Steinberg Hart. Los Angeles and San Jose offices are outfitted with VR rooms where design teams can actively engage in collaborative VR sessions between offices, or even with clients. He envisions that this VR-based approach to spatial experience and design quality will soon be introduced into the Quality Assurance checklist for all projects in the firm.
Due to his collaborative, insightful, and forward-thinking approach to facilities design and operations, Rob has been invited to sit on the Board of Advisors for several asset-based software companies and he is currently serving as a Subject Matter Expert to the State of California’s Community College Chancellor’s Office FUSION version 2.0 development; a database of statewide assets.
