Microdrones’ Fully Integrated UAV Lidar Solution

Microdrones was present at ILMF 2017 debuting its mdMapper + lidar package—a fully integrated solution for drone lidar mapping.

MdMapper + LiDAR offers small-area UAV mapping that is “ready to use right out of the box.” It includes a Microdrones md4-1000 quadcopter, Applanix IMU, mdLiDAR processing software, and the SICK LD-MRS40001 laser scanner. An RGB sensor is optional.

The lidar sensor itself is a new offering, and worth digging into. I caught up with Microdrones on the show floor to find out more about their offering, and what makes this new sensor special.
