Laser Scanning Sees Surging Interest and Demand at SPAR 2004 - Image 1

Interest in 3D laser scanning was red hot at SPAR 2004. More than 200 registrants and a dozen leading suppliers came together in an explosion of fresh product, new industry alliances, and documented success cases May 19-20 in Houston. Presenters and attendees from the automotive, civil infrastructure, aerospace, process and power industries engaged in a rich exchange of best practices for capturing, managing and engineering with existing-conditions data. As the hosts of this event it would be bad manners for us to boast, but many of our attendees expressed their satisfaction that now this industry has its own forum. Everything we saw at the conference affirmed that demand for this technology and the services around it is growing strongly. We’re busy planning next year’s event, and we’ll update you as soon as we’ve settled on dates and a venue.
