HoloBuilder puts BIM 360 in 360°

HoloBuilder is partnering with Autodesk to enable easy data transfer between HoloBuilder’s 360° capture solution for construction sites and Autodesk’s BIM 360. These two platforms will be integrated using Autodesk’s Forge technology as part of Autodesk’s BIM 360 integration program.

More specifically, users will be able to add issues to BIM 360 projects from within the HoloBuilder platform. Walk the site virtually from within HoloBuilder and add issues as you go. HoloBuilder says any issues created by the user will also be linked to their position within the virtual job site, making it simpler for users to find areas of interest and see their wider context.

The integration goes both ways. Users can also add BIM 360 documents, such as sheets or floor plans to the HoloBuilder environment.

HoloBuilder says that “further functionality which allows customers to link additional information between BIM 360 and HoloBuilder will be released shortly.”

As announced at Autodesk University this year, the two companies have described the partnership as closing the gap between workflows for capturing a worksite for virtual walkthrough and workflows for document and issue management.
