How are DOT’s Using 3D Tools to Solve Infrastructure and Transportation Challenges
Tuesday, July 21, 2020 | 2:00PM – 3:30PM Eastern Time
DOTs need to access the steep and potentially dangerous terrain in order to adequately map features and gather data to support design calculations, but they also need to proceed in a safe manner. Oftentimes, geo-professionals responding to slope failures do not have sufficient time or resources to charter aircraft or other specialty aerial mapping services to obtain the best design data. Inadequate reconnaissance information hinders planning for safe site access. A readily deployable, small, and cost-effective tool is needed in these instances. Join this discussion of latest precision measurement tools and platforms in use by leading DOTs, how they are being integrated for better project management and analytics.
