BGC and LOOOK Just Released a Slick Mixed-Reality Mining App

A few months ago, we featured a project from earth-sciences engineering company BGC, and mixed-reality design and development studio LOOOK. The two companies had teamed up to create 3D-visualization tools that “turn traditional flat engineering drawings and data into interactive 3D maps and immersive landscapes.”

The idea is that, through the use of mixed-reality technology, BGC can communicate with clients and project stakeholders with significantly more clarity.

HoloLens, Mining, and a 3D-Data Revolution

“I can show you a million 2D drawings, but you’ll never understand it as clearly as if I show you the same information in 3D using HoloLens,” explains Bill Burton, Vice President at BGC, “This has the potential to revolutionize how we communicate on a day-to-day basis.”
